I really don’t know who has really kept their so called “New Years Resolution.” I wouldn’t say what I am about to write is consider New years resolution but just a lists of thing I need to get done when the holidays are over, Jan 2, 2008. Since the week of Christmas many offices and businesses were closed which stalled some of my plans plus I can’t wait until the holidays are over, working in retail around this time is a monster. But anyways here is the plan for 2008.

1.)Save up for a new laptop
I realize when browsing many fashion related positions knowing how to use a MAC is pretty essential. Also it make sense all of the magazines I believe uses MAC.

2.)plus get ready for fashion 5-6 months cycle.
I need that laptop!!!

3.)Invest basic long sleeve tees
I have been buying many cardigans to put over my short sleeves tops I haven’t really brought and long sleeves top yet. Mixing and matching during the cold weather is fun. *sigh*

4.)Learn different knitting technique.
Knowing the basic knit and purl is good but spicing it up with learning how to do cables is even better.

5.)Sell items on Ebay
My closet is a feeding ground of clothes I never wore, I never will wear and clothes that just don’t fit. I don’t have problem saving clothes, right now I am wearing jeans that I brought when I was a sophomore in High school, I am 22. I just think it’s time to let go.

The past weeks have been full of all the usual end of year “what were they thinking” stuff, and predictions for the year to come, well here’s one to start 2008 off, and it’s a combo, surprisingly, from Gucci. Usually, if you don’t like a Gucci, it’s more a matter of personal taste, not poor taste…until the Joy Boston Bags that is.
Please someone tell me…what were they thinking? And is this a peek into the future of the venerable house of Gucci’s future?
God, I hope not.

If you stand a few steps back, and squint, it’s easy to mistake the bag for Juicy. not Gucci. The insignia fabric, bright colors, stylized script…it is an emblem-fest of cheesy. It looks like something picked up on 5th Ave, not in the Gucci flagship, but literally ON 5th Avenue. From a table near the street, where the bigger and more frequent the designer name, the better.
Then again, perhaps it is a brilliant bit of marketing genius, to cater to the girls who love their Juicy type logos, but feel they’re growing out of the teen years when an embroidered terry cloth bag is enough, and want something still juvenile, but more “exclusive”.
At $530, it certainly is almost an entry level bag for the company, not much more than a Juicy bag…maybe it is intended to be a gateway drug for future label slaves?

Photo shoots can be unfortunate for any designer (check video to the left), editor photographer or model.
Things can go array the lighting doesn′t work, the model is passed out or something else(!!!). However when you are working with positive people with great energy fabulousness can happen. In my case when I was on the photo shoot set with designer Kimberley everything was beyond positive. It was a beautiful day (no clouds in the sky), the models Pamela and Angel was fierce, the photgrapher was funny as hell. Basically to sum it up it was a brillant to be among everyone on the set that, even though at the end of the night the temperature dropped the everything ended on a high note.
