Fendi Peekaboo, I want you

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

It is ok to tell me how absolutely absurd it is to want to spend a good amount of money on a designer felt bag. Because really, intellectually I know it is ridiculous and typically I would agree with you. But my handbag-loving-emotions are taking over and I am seriously head-over-heels in love with the Fendi Felt Peekaboo Tote.

It is made with felt. Yes, felt. As in the material my mom and I used to go buy for me to use when creating a school project. Because it is inexpensive and not exactly a luxury material. My logic has left the building. Even after seeing every covetable option Fendi created of the Peekaboo, this somehow is the version that I seriously desire.

This version of the Peekaboo looks so soft that I want to cuddle with it. I want to buy it and then carry it around during the day and sit it next to me on the couch at night. And maybe we will share a glass of wine by the fire while reading a Nicholas Sparks novel… (or something).

The gray felt body is spruced up with the leopard print peeking out. The leopard print is on calf hair and the rest of the interior is lined in black suede. This combination is subtle but perfectly suited for my personal style. I think Fendi has been reading PurseBlog and figured out this is the bag for me. Ok, so it might be a little blase, especially for the exorbitant price tag. But I still want it. Check back to Net-A-Porter for it to stock for $2,670.

Want it Wednesday: Fendi Twins Tote with Poko Pano Bikini

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Part of the idea of Want it Wednesday is writing about things that are either super expensive, unattainable, or something I would typically not buy (for a variety of other reasons). For example, Victoria Beckham’s crocodile Birkin is way out of my budget and probably very hard to track down, but I covered it and still dream about it.

This week’s Want it Wednesday brings a tote that I would not ordinarily buy myself with a bikini that I absolutely adore. With summer arriving on our doorsteps, all I can think about is bikinis and beach-y bags. So here is my latest installment, with a Fendi bag and Poko Pano Bikini.

My first item is the Poko Pano Cabana Bikini. Let me tell you something, a white bikini is very flattering on most people. Even if you aren’t tan, you appear to have a tan when you wear a stark white bikini. Not to mention it feels very Bond Girl-esque. I love love love this simple yet glamorous design especially because of the twisted bandeau top. This means less tan lines while wearing a really feminine and sexy suit. I fell in love with so many suits at All Wet Beachwear, this being one. Buy for $150.

Best news is all PurseBlog.com readers can receive 10% off All Wet Swimwear’s collection of swimwear with the coupon code: AWBP᧒. Enter at check-out. Offer ends May 10, 2010.

Next we have the Fendi Twins Woven Raffia Shopper. Welcome back this Fendi bag, we have covered it twice already. I still cannot say that I want to buy it, especially for the price. But if we were talking about being in the realm of having tons of money to spend, this would look amazing with any beachy summer outfit or even by a pool. Buy through Net A Porter for $2,560.

Oh yeah, I would also like the model’s body for my Want it Wednesday last request. Hey, it was worth a shot!

Fendi Leopard-Lined Peekaboo

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Fendi pairs sassy with classy for a powerful and super chic bag. In fact, it speaks to me so much that I seriously want it. The last time I seriously wanted a Fendi bag was a long time ago, I actually have not purchased a Fendi bag since my Spy, which was a good 4 years ago. But now I am sitting here finding myself looking at a massive array of Fendi Peekaboo bags and getting a true and serious handbag itch. I assure you we will cover many more of the Peekaboo versions, but the one I want to share with you all right now is the Fendi Leopard-Lined Peekaboo.

I only have one qualm with the bag that will hold me back from buying it (aside from the fact that I have been trying, without avail, to cut back my bag shopping habit). The faded tan stripe down the center of the bag distracts me. It almost appears like the bag was folded over and the crease got dirty. I have seen Fendi use this on a few of the Peekaboo designs and I personally just do not get it. But if we took that stripe out, I am sold.

The body of the bag is made of milk (off white) leather. I love that hue. It is white, but not. More of a creamy, warm hue of white, hence it is called milk. And then the peekaboo part of the bag is the leopard-print haircalf lining. How wicked is that?! Fendi found a way to incorporate the inside of this hit bag to the outside world. And rather than overpower you with a total leopard print bag, Fendi just has it peeking through and set against milk leather. This is so me. So me minus that stripe. Maybe if I saw it in person I would be more forgiving, but I just find it distracting. Pre-order through Saks for $3,500.

Fendi Mini Chain Multicolor Tassel Bag

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

For a while I was vehemently opposed to tiny bags with long straps. Let me clarify, I am opposed to them for me. Being 5′10 and not a waif, the thought of an extremely small bag dangling at my side seemed absurd (similar to how many petite women find oversized bags silly on their bodies). So riddle me this, today I am digging an entirely small bodied bag WITH logos and a rainbow tassel. Who am I and what have I done with my other self?

Really, this is all kinds of unlike me. And liking this being so unlike me, makes me like this bag even more. I like the idea of carrying the Fendi Mini Chain Multicolor Tassel Bag on a night out or when I’m going on a quick errand run. No need to mess with a heavy shoulder bag, just a long chain link strap and compact body. The body of the bag is large enough to fit a cell phone, credit cards, cash, lipstick. And these are the essentials for many of us, though if you are a mom and going out with your kids it is a whole different story.

The style of the bag is made to have a long drop, 22″ to be exact. And the perfect finishing touch to the monogram Fendi coated canvas; a multicolored oversized tassel. Expect accessories for your bags to reign supreme this Spring (Louis Vuitton is all over this trend) and Fendi is right in queue. Measurements are 5″W X 4″H X 1¾”D. Price is rather steep, buy through Saks for $560.

Do I need some sense knocked into me?

Fendi Peek A Boo Bag

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Fendi Peek A Boo Bag

Fendi keeps making me sad. I want to like Fendi, I want to embrace their new bags, but I rarely find myself doing so. And that is sad for so many reasons, one being that my Fendi Spy Bag was my first high end designer bag purchase.

After the Spy bag, Fendi brought us many other bags which we were happy to leave in the stores and off our arms. Recently, Fendi is sneaking in with some bags that we are liking, which gives us hope that Fendi is trying to get back into our hearts. The Fendi Peek-a-Boo Bag is the most recent popular bag from Fendi, being seen in many renditions and carried by celebrities. Let’s take a closer look at the Peek a Boo.

The black goat leather is offset with burnished silver-tone metal hardware. The shape of this handbag is very Birkin-esque, which many have noted upon seeing the bag. The bag has a slouchy appearance and many times is seen unclasped, which makes this purse look ‘messy’. I love that they finished the interior with gold leather, which shows a decadent finish on the inside as well as the outside. Buy through Net A Porter for $2,300.

Vote and tell us what you think of the Fendi Peek A Boo bag.

Fendi Python Baguette Bag

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

It this just a waste of perfectly good python? I don’t know, maybe it is me, but something doesn’t seem right here. The Fendi Python Baguette Bag uses gorgeous python but also uses too many colors. Or maybe not? I am thinking that you would have to wear a very very very simple outfit with […]

Fendi Satin Forever Clutch

Friday, January 9th, 2009

What? What is this that I see? Might it be a Fendi handbag worth looking at? I’ve found myself trying to rationalize why Fendi goes in certain directions. But I am getting to the point where I am beginning to think this is not a brand you can always make sense of. However, I will […]

Fendi Patent Baguette

Yesterday, as not to jinx the Buckeyes, I did not wrote about how anxious we were to watch the Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl game. Two previous years of BCS embarrassment and this year was going to be different (at least the entire Buckeye nation hoped). But alas, with the final seconds and plays […]

Fendi Selleria Hobo Shoulder Bag
Do you ever have those days where you to not see the light of day, as in you do not leave your house? Not because you are sick or can’t, you just choose not to. Yesterday was one of those days for me. I did, however, force myself to get out […]
