Carlos Falchi Shopping Tote

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

One of the major perks of running Purse Blog and Purse Forum is having the chance to meet designers. Did I think that would ever happen? No. Did I even realize that maybe they would want to meet us? Heck no. One of our favorite interviews to date was with the talented Carlos Falchi. […]

D’Angel Lizard Wallet
I had the chance to review the D’Angel Tia Tote, which is the python bag that everyone was going nuts over! Great price, exotic skin, huge bag, too good to be true? Actually, no, in this case it is not too good to be true. It is just too good to pass up. […]

Buy Salvatore Ferragamo at Saks
Salvatore Ferragamo may be known for shoes, but the new line of handbags has me swooning. Not just a little bit of love, but there is a heavy amount of lust, or yearning, of floating on cloud 9. Part of the problem that many of us face with Ferragamo handbags is […]

Brian Atwood Mattie Patent Clutch

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

It has been far too long since I obsessed over a clutch. Yes, my sister and I love clutches and yes we love to feature them, but there’s no harm in that, right? Ok, so that leads me to the Brain Atwood Mattie Patent Clutch. I look at this clutch as something a little different […]

Jenny, you got my number

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I have this bad habit of getting an idea in my head, something that doesn’t really exist, and then going out and trying to find the next best thing. I can usually find many “almosts”, but none are ever perfect. Some, however are closer to perfect than others. It’s no secret that one such personal quest of late has been the un-messenger bag…a bag with the functionality of a messenger, but the panache of a shoulder bag.

I’ve found some contenders, but so far, Kooba’s Jenny may be the leader of the pack.
I love that this is a bit off kilter looking. Almost like a messenger bag sent through a house of mirrors with it’s jaunty off-kilter asymmetric flap, and off balance hexagonal shape. It’s clean, but not too clean. Straight, but not too straight. There are side gussets that open and close with a zip to expand the interior, though they don’t really add much space, they do add a funky touch. The shoulder strap, which threads through the flap, is adjustable allowing the bag to be worn over the shoulder, or cross body, and at whatever height you like. It also has slots to secure the ends so they don’t hang or get misshapen.
The bag is on the narrow side, which does bother me, but it looks so cool on, that I may be able to get over that.
I saw it in the stone (above) and a black patent, but Kooba has it shown in a beautiful brown, and a promising sounding caramel patent on their site…worth waiting, I think.
Currently, the only place I found the Kooba Jenny available on line is at Bloomingdales in patent for $595.

Mulberry Ombre Bayswater Bag

Mulberry Ombre Bayswater Bag
I have been a fan of the Mulberry Bayswater Bag for quite some time. There is something so simple yet appealing about the design. And yes, it is not super feminine. It is practical and rugged at times, but beautiful when combinations like purple ostrich and a bespoke green crocodile carried by […]
